Engineers, product managers, doctors, consultants and operators in Chennai's IT corridor, Coimbatore's manufacturing belt or anywhere else, who go to the meetups, have more ideas than time, and want to test one properly on evenings and weekends before touching the job.

To quit your job
Resigning is a decision you make in the final phase, with revenue, pipeline and savings written down. It is not a condition of joining.
One perfect idea
Bring the ideas you have. The first three weeks test them against real conversations, and you keep the one that holds up.
To know how to code
A first version can be a no-code tool, a spreadsheet, or you doing the work by hand for your first few customers.
Investors or a pitch deck
There is nothing to pitch and no equity to give up. You pay a monthly fee and keep all of your company.
One thing to check first: many employment contracts restrict outside work or claim what you create. Read yours before you build anything. More on that in the questions below.
What the three months include
The same programme whether you are in Anna Nagar or Tirunelveli. Three phases across twelve weeks: validate the problem, build the smallest useful version, and launch to a paying customer.

Startup School in Tamil Nadu: questions
Is there a startup school in Tamil Nadu?
Yes. LVL1 Startup School is a three-month online startup school run from Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It is open to first-time founders from anywhere in the state and across India, and it takes no equity.
Do I need to be in Chennai to join?
No. Everything runs online: the live 1:1 mentor sessions and the curriculum reviews. Founders in Coimbatore, Madurai, Trichy, Salem or a smaller town get exactly the same programme as founders in Chennai.
Do I have to quit my job to join?
No. The programme is built around a full-time job or a college timetable: about ten hours a week, with sessions booked on evenings and weekends. Resigning is something you decide in the final phase, with revenue, pipeline and savings written down, not a condition of joining. If you are already full-time on your idea you move through the same work faster.
I already go to startup events in Chennai or Coimbatore. Why would I need this?
Keep going. Meetups are good for meeting people and staying inspired. What an event cannot do is look at your specific idea every week, put customer conversations on your calendar, or tell you honestly when the reasoning is weak. Startup School gives you an operator doing exactly that for twelve weeks, with work due on a date, so the energy from Saturday is still there on Monday.
Could my employment contract be a problem?
It can be, so check before you build. Many employment contracts in India have clauses about outside work, confidentiality or who owns what you create, sometimes even outside office hours and on your own laptop. Read yours and speak to a lawyer if anything is unclear. Sorting this out is part of the first phase for that reason. We are not your lawyers.
What does LVL1 Startup School cost?
A one-time ₹499 review fee when you apply, then ₹12,000 per month for three months, charged only if you are accepted. After that an optional alumni membership of ₹3,000 per month keeps your sessions and library access. You can cancel anytime.
How is this different from a college incubator or StartupTN programme?
Those are valuable and we encourage founders to use them. Startup School is narrower: a fixed twelve-week curriculum, a named operator reviewing your work every week, and a hard deadline to get a paying customer. It is designed to complement, not replace, a college incubator or a government scheme.
What happens after the three months?
You leave with a validated problem, a product real people use, your first paying customer where the idea holds, and a clear decision on what comes next. Founders who do well are invited to apply to the LVL1 Accelerator, which is a separate equity programme.
